Acer's refreshed Swift 7 features insanely thin bezels for a nearly borderless display

Acer impressed with the launch of the super-compact Swift 7 laptop at CES 2022, but it's ratcheting up the awe gene at CES 2022 with a refresh that matches the laptop's sparse chassis with a nearly borderless display.

The 14-inch Swift seven now packs a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio, making the bezels around the display nearly disappear. Shrinking the bezels has the added consequence of making the 14-inch laptop more than meaty than its as well, dropping its width and depth to just 12.5 inches ten vii.5 inches. At under 1 centimeter thick and just under 2 pounds, the Swift 7 remains incredibly portable, too.

As for raw specs, the xiv-inch IPS touch display comes with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, running at 300 nits of brightness and covering 100 percent of the sRGB colour gamut. The new Swift 7 is powered by Intel's 8th Gen Cadre i7-8500Y processor, up to 512GB of PCIe SSD storage, and upwardly to 16GB of RAM. Battery life comes in at around 10 hours, according to Acer's estimates.

As for ports, you're looking at two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support and Displayport 1.2. Wireless connectivity includes Gigabit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth five.0. There'south also a fingerprint reader embedded in the power push button for Windows Howdy hallmark, and the laptop features a popular-up webcam above the keyboard.

The Acer Swift 7 is expected to launch in North America in May, with prices starting at $1,700. Buyers in EMEA regions and China tin can expect to get their easily on the laptop starting in April at €ane,800 and ¥15,000, respectively.
